John David MacDonald. Jr., affectionately known as ‘Johnny Mac’ or ‘Macky,’ passed away on June 5, 2026, in Hudson, Massachusetts — Born on March 1, 1965, in Framingham, he was a lifelong resident of Hudson, a community he called home after moving there at age seven. A proud graduate of Hudson High School’s class of 1983, he was a dedicated member of the Hawks football team for all four years. John later earned an Associate’s Degree from Worcester State College and built a career in operations and logistics at companies such as Stratus Computer and Cognex Corporation. He also served as an assistant football coach at Westborough High School, where he passed on his passion for the game to the next generation.
A Father, A Coach, A Patriot
John’s greatest pride was his family. He cherished time with his children, Jack (J.T.) MacDonald, 27, and Jessica MacDonald, 21, as he was an active coach for J.T.’s youth sports teams in both baseball and football, embodying the values he lived by,teamwork, dedication, and joy. An avid New England Patriots fan, John was known for his enthusiasm and ability to bring people together, always the life of any gathering. He is survived by his children and mother, Margaret (Peggy) MacDonald, and is preceded in death by his father, John D. MacDonald, and his sister, Linda Tuper-MacDonald. Visitation hours are scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
David Junior in Mansfield
In a separate but similarly heartfelt tribute, David Fieldon Thompson Jr., 54, of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on May 10, 2026. Born on August 9, 1971, he was known for his hands-on talents, whether in building or rebuilding. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life—fishing, long road trips, and music. His love for his family was profound, and his laughter and stories were cherished by all who knew him. He is remembered for his adventurous spirit and the deep love he gave to those around him.
A Legacy in Education and Community
Meanwhile, in Nigeria, the term ‘David junior’ appeared in a very different context. EBC Financial Group made headlines for its support of Isolo Junior Secondary School in Lagos, where it donated 250 notebooks and 47 backpacks. These supplies, essential for daily learning, were presented during a ceremony attended by EBC representatives and school officials. David Precious, the project coordinator, emphasized the importance of these items in helping students prepare for their studies. ‘These are everyday essentials that play a vital role in classroom learning,’ he said. The donation aligns with broader efforts to improve educational access in Nigeria, where over 10.5 million children between the ages of 5 and 14 do not attend school.
