Musk’s comments come amid a series of public criticisms he has made regarding the casting decisions for Christopher Nolan’s recent film adaptation of ‘The Odyssey.’ In March, Musk accused Nolan of being an ‘anti-White racist,’ claiming that the director cast Lupita Nyong’o as Helen of Troy solely for awards consideration. According to Variety, this aligns with the all-white cast of the short film Musk shared on X.

Musk also supported transphobic posts about Elliot Page, who was initially rumored to be playing Achilles. Page was later confirmed to be playing Sinon in Nolan’s version. In response to an X user’s suggestion, Musk even offered to fund Mel Gibson $100 million to film an adaptation of ‘The Odyssey’ in Homeric Greek.
