Four women have accused Oscar-winning actor Jared Leto of criminal sexual conduct in a BBC documentary titled Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret, according to multiple reports. In a statement issued through his publicist, Leto said, ‘I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life; these claims are absolutely and categorically false,’ according to Deadline.

Allegations Span 14 Years, Include Teenagers

The BBC film features 10 women detailing encounters with Leto between 2002 and 2016, with four of them accusing him of behavior that could have transgressed the law in the U.S. and UK. One woman alleged that she was sexually assaulted by Leto in Las Vegas in 2002, when she was 17 and he was over 30. Another claimed she had sex with him at his California home in 2006 when she was also 17 — a potential statutory rape in the state. A third woman. Aged 16 at the time. Reported receiving sexual phone calls from Leto after meeting him at a Los Angeles modeling agency in 2014 — a fourth woman accused him of making a sexual threat after attending a Thirty Seconds to Mars concert in London in 2013, according to GMX.

Documentary Sparks Public Outcry

The documentary prompted renewed attention following a 2022 Instagram post by Los Angeles DJ Allie Teilz, who alleged she had been assaulted by Leto when she was 17. Teilz’s post led to a flood of responses from other women sharing similar experiences, as this led to a report in U.S. media outlet Air Mail in which nine women accused Leto of inappropriate behavior. At that time, his representatives ‘expressly denied’ the accusations, calling Teilz’s claims ‘demonstrably false.’
