Diagnosis and Immediate Response
US influencer Nara Smith shared the news that her two-year-old daughter, Whimsy-Lou, has cancer, prompting an outpouring of support from fans and celebrities. Smith, a mother of four, said that the diagnosis came after she and her husband, Lucky Blue Smith, noticed something suspicious and took the toddler to the hospital. The couple was referred to a pediatrician for tests, which confirmed the child’s cancer had already spread to other parts of her body.
Public Support and Messages
Celebrities and well-wishers have taken to social media to express their support. Singer Raye posted a message under Smith’s video saying, “My beautiful superwoman friend.” Influencer Haley Baylee also added, “Sending so much love and strength to your family.” US artist Charlie Puth wrote on TikTok, “the whole world” was with Smith and her family, adding, “Our prayers are with you.”
Sharing the Struggle
In her video. Which has been viewed by more than 25 million people across Instagram and TikTok, Smith explains how difficult it has been for the family to process the diagnosis. She said that she has been posting less online as a result. Handling the challenges of postpartum life, caring for their other children, being at the hospital with Whimsy, and balancing work have been particularly tough, she said. “Finding that balance has been something that I struggle with on a daily basis,” Smith added.
Despite the difficulties, Smith hopes that sharing her story will encourage others to seek medical attention if something doesn’t feel right with their children’s health. She said, “I hope that by sharing this I can bring someone else a little bit of comfort and make you feel less alone in your journey in whatever way that may be.”
Smith, who has over 17 million followers on Instagram and TikTok, is known for sharing parenting and traditional family content. Her videos often feature interactions with Whimsy and her three other children, Rumble Honey, Slim Easy, and Fawnie Golden, who was born in October 2025. Her content also includes elaborate meal preparations and stylish outfits.
Though her content often aligns with the “tradwife” label, Smith has previously pushed back against it, emphasizing that her approach to family and motherhood is personal and not something to be reduced to a trend.
