Minority Chief Whip Frank Annoh-Dompreh has conducted an inspection of the ongoing construction of a new health centre in Adoagyiri, a project aimed at expanding access to quality healthcare in the Nsawam-Adoagyiri constituency. The facility, being developed through Annoh-Dompreh’s office, is expected to serve residents of Adoagyiri and surrounding areas once completed.
Project Details and Infrastructure
According to Annoh-Dompreh, the new health centre will feature spacious wards, modern rooms, and improved infrastructure to enhance the delivery of healthcare services. The facility is projected to become one of the largest health centers in the constituency, catering to thousands of residents.
During a visit on Sunday, Annoh-Dompreh emphasized that the project represents a significant step forward in improving community health services. He described the initiative as a continuation of his focus on health infrastructure since assuming his position as a Member of Parliament.
Pledges for Equipment and Operation
Annoh-Dompreh made a commitment to ensure that the health centre is fully furnished and operational. He stated that he is determined to install hospital beds and essential medical equipment to make the center ready to serve the community immediately upon completion.
“I am also committed to installing hospital beds and essential medical equipment to make the centre fully operational and ready to serve our community,” he assured. The pledge highlights the importance of ensuring that the facility not only meets construction standards but is also equipped to handle the healthcare needs of the local population.
Healthcare Access and Community Impact
The new health center is expected to have a significant impact on the residents of Adoagyiri and neighboring communities. By bringing quality healthcare services closer to the people, the project aims to reduce the burden on the main government hospital and improve overall health outcomes in the region.
“This is about bringing quality healthcare closer to the people and building a healthier Nsawam-Adoagyiri for today and the future,” Annoh-Dompreh emphasized. His focus on health infrastructure aligns with broader efforts to address the disparities in healthcare access across different parts of the country.
With the population of the Nsawam-Adoagyiri constituency estimated at over 100,000 people, the new health center is expected to serve a large portion of the local population. The facility will provide essential services such as outpatient care, maternal health, and basic diagnostic services, which are critical for improving public health outcomes.
The project is part of a growing trend in Ghana where local leaders are investing in community-based healthcare solutions to complement national health strategies. Similar initiatives have been implemented in other constituencies, including the construction of health centers in the Ashanti and Volta regions.
According to Annoh-Dompreh, the health center will not only serve as a primary healthcare facility but also act as a training ground for local healthcare workers. This dual purpose is expected to enhance the capacity of the local health system and improve the delivery of care in the long term.
The next phase of the project includes finalizing the construction timeline and securing the necessary medical equipment. Annoh-Dompreh has indicated that he will work closely with local stakeholders and healthcare professionals to ensure the center meets the highest standards of service delivery.
The health center is anticipated to be completed within the next six months, with an official opening ceremony planned for early next year. The completion of this project will mark a significant milestone in the development of healthcare infrastructure in the Nsawam-Adoagyiri constituency.
