Realme has launched the Realme C83 5G in India with a massive 7,000 mAh battery, starting at Rs 13,499, targeting budget-conscious consumers. The phone joins the Realme C series and is positioned as a competitor to other budget smartphones in the Indian market. The device is available in two colors—Blooming Purple and Sprouting Green—and will be sold exclusively on Flipkart and the Realme online store starting March 7.
Key Features and Specifications
The Realme C83 5G features a 6.7-inch LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 900 nits, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset built on a 6nm process, which is expected to offer decent performance for everyday tasks. The device comes with 4GB and 6GB LPDDR4X RAM options, paired with 64GB and 128GB storage configurations.
The phone’s standout feature is its 7,000 mAh battery, which supports 15W wired charging and 5W reverse charging. Realme claims the battery will provide up to four years of smooth performance, a significant selling point for users looking for a long-lasting smartphone. The device also includes a 5,334mm Airflow VC cooling system to ensure stable performance during extended use.
Camera Capabilities and Software
For photography, the Realme C83 5G sports a single rear camera with a 13-megapixel sensor and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. The rear camera can record videos in 1080p at 30 FPS, which is standard for most budget smartphones. The device runs Realme UI 7.0 based on Android 16, offering a user-friendly experience with regular software updates.
The phone features an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance, making it more durable in everyday scenarios. The design includes a rectangular outline with a triple-camera cutout and a flash, while the front houses a single camera within a waterdrop notch. The flat frame design adds to the device’s overall appeal.
Pricing and Availability
The Realme C83 5G is priced at Rs 13,499 for the base variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. A version with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at Rs 14,499, while the top-of-the-line variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage costs Rs 17,499. The company has also introduced an interest-free EMI option of up to six months, making the device more accessible for budget-conscious buyers.
The smartphone will be available for purchase starting March 7 on Flipkart and the Realme online store. The launch follows the recent release of the Realme Narzo Power, which featured a 10,001 mAh battery, indicating a continued focus on battery life as a key selling point in the budget smartphone segment.
Analysts suggest that the Realme C83 5G could challenge other budget smartphones in the Indian market, especially with its large battery and competitive pricing. The device aligns with the growing demand for smartphones that offer long battery life and affordability.
