Tom Holland has confirmed that he and his longtime partner, Zendaya, are married, ending months of speculation. The revelation came during an interview with Esquire U.K., where Holland was asked about artificial intelligence-generated images that appeared to depict the couple at their wedding. Holland responded, “No, because they were all there.”
Behind-the-Scenes Support
Holland praised the support he and Zendaya provide each other in their Hollywood careers. “Our business can present very stressful situations and it’s really nice to have a bedrock of a relationship that will stand the test of time,” he said. “For me, I found my person. She’s my best friend. And I’m the happiest I ever have been when I’m with her, but I also have never felt so supported and safe, ever. Period.”
He further described their relationship as a “lifeline” in an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle. “It’s so nice to have someone that understands that in such a personal way so that you can talk each other down, or you can big each other up,” he said.
Spider-Man and Career Reflections
Holland and Zendaya are set to star together in two major films this summer: “The Odyssey” and “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.” Holland recently reflected on the impact of their relationship on his work. During the filming of the new “Spider-Man” movie, he said he questioned whether a scene was working and asked Zendaya for her opinion, but she agreed it wasn’t working, and together they raised the concern with the director, who ultimately rewrote the scene.
Holland also addressed his past comment that if he were still playing Spider-Man at 30, he would have “done something wrong.” Now 30, Holland said the remark was part of a “negotiation tactic” during contract discussions. “I think the truth is that playing Spider-Man has been the joy of my life,” he said — “I now kind of stand on the plinth of like, I’ll do it for as long as they’ll have me.”
New Spider-Man Film
The new “Spider-Man” film, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, is described as the most emotive and mature in the franchise, according to Holland. The movie is set for a July 31 release and will show the consequences of Peter Parker’s decision at the end of “No Way Home.”
Sony Pictures has also announced the development of an R-rated adaptation of the video game “Bloodborne,” with a release date set for February 18, 2028. Meanwhile, the director of “Godzilla Minus One,” Takashi Yamazaki, will debut his first English-language film, “Grand Gear,” which is set to begin filming soon.
