There are only 100 days left for eligible Amazon customers to file a claim in the company’s $2.5 billion settlement with the Federal Trade Commission, while the window to submit a claim in the settlement closes on July 27, as reported by USA Today. This is the second phase of payouts in the settlement; in the first, eligible customers received automatic payments last year, while In September 2025, Amazon agreed to settle with the FTC to resolve an antitrust lawsuit filed in 2023. The lawsuit alleged Amazon coerced consumers into enrolling in Prime subscriptions and then made those agreements difficult to cancel, as Amazon denied wrongdoing, saying it has ‘always followed the law’ and works to ‘make it clear and simple for customers’ to cancel their Prime membership.
Eligibility and Claim Process
As part of the current phase of payouts in the Amazon settlement, customers must submit a claim to receive payment. Only eligible Amazon customers who used their Prime benefits 10 or fewer times over any 12-month period of enrollment can submit a claim in this phase. Those who qualify to submit a claim will receive a notice by email or mail, according to the settlement website. Customers can make claims by filling out the form on the online portal. Submissions will be reviewed for eligibility. Claims can also be submitted via email by sending a completed claims form to [email protected]. The settlement website notes that the quickest way to submit your claim is through the online portal. The deadline to submit a claim is July 27.
Amazon Prime Content and Deals
In addition to the settlement, Amazon Prime continues to offer exclusive content and deals. The German publication Tagesspiegel reported on the finale of the Amazon Prime series ‘The Boys,’ which has become a top-ranking show. The series follows the story of Homelander, a powerful and corrupt superhero, and his conflict with the group ‘The Boys,’ who aim to bring him down. Meanwhile, the German tech magazine PCGH highlighted some of the best Prime-exclusive deals available, including limited-time offers on electronics and accessories. These deals are available only to Amazon Prime members and are valid for a short period. The magazine also noted that Amazon Prime membership includes more than just exclusive deals, offering benefits such as fast shipping, Prime Video, and access to streaming content like the Champions League.
Other Amazon Prime Highlights
Other recent developments include the availability of the film ‘Miss Potter’ on Amazon Prime, which has drawn mixed reviews from critics and audiences. The film, compared to ‘Downton Abbey,’ has been praised for its lead performances but criticized for lacking depth. Meanwhile, the Bitcoin Magazine featured a film titled ‘Self Custody’ now available on Amazon Prime. The film follows a man who discovers he has a large amount of Bitcoin but cannot access it due to a forgotten PIN. The film highlights the risks of self-custody in the cryptocurrency world and serves as a cautionary tale for crypto owners.
