LAGOS — A church member’s testimony has stirred congregants at the Ibru Ecumenical Centre, where he detailed how obedience to scriptural calls led to profound personal victories. Speaking during a service, the man described purchasing a plot in remote Okeafa on advice from his General Overseer, watching its value soar over time.
“Every word from the G.O. came to pass,” he said. He developed the land incrementally. God provided, he added, enabling him to acquire a Mercedes Benz 190 model back then.
His story deepened in 2006 during a crusade in Uli, Anambra State. His youngest son vanished amid the event. Prayers to the “God of Chosen” brought the boy back safe. The child entered professional basketball, drawing friends into the sport. At a U.S. screening, officials selected the friends but overlooked him.
The son explained to his father, “My time has not come.” Sure enough, a later screening picked him alone. He relocated to the United States on scholarship. Early struggles gave way to success. He recently completed a master’s degree. Days ago, he phoned home: he secured a green card. The family home in Okeafa now stands finished, sheltering them all.
“Praise the Lord! God of Chosen is great,” the father declared, praying for his G.O. and Chosen members worldwide to reach heaven.
This account echoes the centre’s teachings on Matthew 11:27-28. Jesus declares all things delivered to him by the Father, then invites the weary: “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Preachers there stress God’s original plan for Earth as heaven’s colony, shattered by the devil’s deception in Eden. Man, created in God’s image for dominion, fell into disobedience and exile.
Yet God promised a deliverer. John 3:16 fulfills it: God sent his only Son so believers gain everlasting life. Jesus launched his ministry in Galilee, proclaiming in Matthew 4:17, “Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Entry demands repentance, a mindset shift away from satanic influences toward Christ’s full instructions.
The invitation stands open lifelong to all on Earth. Luke 14:16-21 illustrates a great supper prepared, excuses rejected, outcasts welcomed instead. Amos 4:12 urges preparation: “Prepare to meet thy God.” Holiness alone suits the holy God, leaders say. Repentance invites the Holy Spirit’s guidance, culminating in the rapture.
At the Ibru Ecumenical Centre, such testimonies reinforce the Master’s open-handed call. Jesus, empowered by the Father, promises eternal rest, deliverance, salvation in the kingdom. The faithful respond, as this father’s life shows—from rags to riches, bondage to freedom.
