Los Angeles police responded to a report of ‘unknown trouble’ in the 19200 block of Erwin Street shortly after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. When officers arrived. They found 81-year-old actor James Handy unconscious in his front yard with a fatal stab wound to the chest, as he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Suspect Identified as Girlfriend’s Son

The suspect. Identified as 44-year-old Michael Gledhill, was the son of Handy’s girlfriend and a resident of the same home, according to the Los Angeles Police Department, but Gledhill reportedly flagged down responding officers and confessed to the crime; he was arrested and booked for one count of murder. His bail was set at $2,000,000.00.

During the 911 call, the suspect said, ‘I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin,’ as reported by police. The Los Angeles Fire Department transported Handy to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
