Mondottica Group, a leading eyewear manufacturer based in Hong Kong, has entered into a new distribution agreement with Xavi Fuste, a prominent figure in the European optical market, to bring Off-White and Palm Angels’ latest eyewear collections to Spain and Portugal. This move is part of a global relaunch of both brands’ unisex optical and sunglasses lines, which are set to debut in the spring/summer 2026 season.
Expansion into Key European Markets
The agreement aims to tap into the growing demand for luxury eyewear in the Iberian Peninsula, where both Off-White and Palm Angels have established strong brand recognition. According to Mondottica’s CEO, Tony Pessok, the collaboration with Fuste and his team will focus on reaching select opticians across the region.
‘We are working with Xavi Fuste and his extensive team, drawing on their experience and expertise in these key territories to reach select opticians,’ Pessok said. ‘Building on the success of the global launches, we are expanding further into key European territories with the support of our highly regarded regional optical agents.’
Under the deal, Mondottica will distribute Off-White’s spring 2026 sunglasses and optical collections, which include 30 and 24 unisex styles, respectively. These designs feature acetate and metal frames available in up to six and seven colorways. Palm Angels’ new-season sunglasses and optical lines will also be distributed, offering 20 and 18 unisex styles in up to five colors, all produced in Italy.
Strategic Move for Luxury Brands
This expansion highlights the growing importance of the European market for luxury fashion brands. Spain and Portugal have seen a rise in demand for high-end fashion products, driven by a well-established middle class and a growing interest in designer eyewear.
Mondottica, founded in 2002, has a global presence with offices in London, Paris, Barcelona, Tokyo, New York, and Sydney. The company distributes its products on every continent and holds licenses for a variety of luxury brands, including AllSaints, Anna Sui, Christian Lacroix, Pepe Jeans, Sandro, United Colors of Benetton, and Vivienne Westwood.
The partnership with Fuste is expected to enhance Mondottica’s reach in the region, using his deep understanding of the local market. Fuste, who has been involved in the optical industry for over two decades, has previously worked with several high-profile brands in Spain and Portugal.
The spring/summer 2026 collections from Off-White and Palm Angels are set to be revealed to fans of the brands through select opticians across Spain and Portugal. The collections are expected to be available in early 2026, following successful global launches in other regions.
Future Outlook and Market Impact
The move is likely to have a ripple effect on the European eyewear market, where competition for high-end brands is fierce. Analysts predict that the expansion could increase the visibility of Off-White and Palm Angels in the Iberian Peninsula, potentially boosting sales and brand loyalty.
According to industry reports, the European eyewear market is projected to grow by 4.5% annually through 2027, driven by rising consumer spending and a preference for designer products. Mondottica’s strategic entry into Spain and Portugal aligns with this trend, positioning the company to capture a larger share of the market.
The agreement also highlights the importance of local partnerships in the luxury fashion sector. As global brands seek to expand their reach, local distributors often play a crucial role in handling regional market dynamics and consumer preferences.
With this new distribution deal, Mondottica continues to solidify its position as a key player in the global luxury eyewear market. The company’s ability to adapt to regional demands and collaborate with experienced local partners will be critical to its long-term success in Europe and beyond.
