The theft occurred Feb. 14 at the business located in Broomfield, police said. Surveillance footage captured the suspect loading up on the denim, which retails online for $70 to $80 per pair, according to the department.

Broomfield police noted this wasn’t the thief’s first visit. “This individual is believed to have stolen items from this location multiple times, including at least once in December,” the department stated in a release.

Investigators released still images from the store’s cameras. They show a man wearing a baseball cap, black and blue jacket, and jeans. He drove off in an older-model gold crossover with out-of-state plates marked either QPS6F or DPS6F. Police described him as white or Hispanic.

The spree highlights ongoing retail theft issues in the area. JAX Outdoor Gear specializes in outdoor apparel, farm supplies and ranch equipment. Staff alerted officers immediately after spotting the man on video.

“We’re asking the public for help identifying him,” Officer Schaetzle wrote in the alert. Tips can go to [email protected]. Callers may also reach the non-emergency line at 303-438-6400.

Shoplifting cases have ticked up across Colorado suburbs lately. In nearby Westminster, police reported a string of similar hits on clothing outlets last month. Broomfield officials urged store owners to review security footage routinely.

No arrests have come yet. The suspect remains at large. Detectives hope the vehicle details and clear photos spark quick leads.
