Tourists from the Netherlands Aboard

According to Dutch media and the General Dutch Association of Travel Companies (ANVR), the bus was carrying 48 Dutch tourists, and a spokeswoman for ANVR, acting as a spokesperson for tour operator OAD, stated that all passengers were Dutch nationals. This has not yet been confirmed by Swiss authorities.

Dutch travel association ANVR said it could not yet provide exact figures for the number of people killed or injured in the crash; De Telegraaf reported the number of people on board but emphasized that the figure has not been confirmed by police.

Emergency Response and Ongoing Investigation

Emergency response teams were dispatched to the site of the crash, and multiple helicopters were deployed as part of the rescue operations. Images published by Swiss newspaper Blick showed the bus on its side, surrounded by emergency vehicles and helicopters.

Swiss President Guy Parmelin expressed his condolences in a post on X, stating, ‘I am deeply shocked and dismayed by today’s tragic accident involving a Dutch coach in Graubünden. I offer my sincere condolences to the families of those who lost their lives.’

Parmelin also emphasized that ‘the relevant Swiss authorities will ensure that a broad and thorough investigation is carried out to establish all the circumstances surrounding this accident.’

Support and Communication Channels

Graubuenden Cantonal Police provided a hotline for relatives and consulates seeking information about the accident. They stated, ‘A hotline is available for relatives and consulates regarding the coach accident in Susch. Please contact the operations center of the Graubuenden Cantonal Police at 081 256 56 56.’

The crash occurred on the road between Susch and the nearby village of Zernez. Police have not yet released the cause of the accident or further details about the passengers’ condition.

Local police have confirmed that emergency response teams are on-site, and further updates are expected as more information becomes available.
