CypSec announced Tuesday an expansion of its European Cyber Mentorship Program, a key effort to develop top cybersecurity specialists amid rising demand for managed services. The program now covers Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania in the Baltic States; the DACH countries, Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary in Central Europe; and Finland, Sweden and Denmark in the Nordic region.
Participants gain hands-on guidance from CypSec’s principal researchers. They learn advanced vulnerability research, zero-day discovery techniques and analysis of regional threat landscapes. This direct pipeline bolsters CypSec’s ability to deliver specialized services to government, defense and critical infrastructure clients.
“Managed services excellence requires exceptional human expertise, not just platform capabilities,” CypSec CEO Daria Fediay said. She added that the program spots top regional talent, speeds their growth through mentorship and weaves them into the company’s service ecosystem. That approach, she said, boosts client capabilities and Europe’s overall security resilience.
Candidates face strict selection criteria. Organizers seek individuals with proven excellence in local cybersecurity communities, skills advancing faster than peers and a dedication to sharing knowledge. The process involves checks on technical skills, face-to-face talks on system architecture and tests in operational scenarios.
Chosen mentees get substantial backing. They interact directly with researchers, use advanced tools, receive funds for conference attendance and earn priority for job openings at CypSec. Ties often extend past the program’s end date, leading to fellowships or ongoing partnerships.
The effort goes further than personal growth. Mentees must contribute to their areas by launching local training, heading professional groups and linking universities to broader European research. CypSec officials say this creates a ripple effect, amplifying the company’s reach while keeping development rooted in local expertise.
CypSec positions the mentorship as a cornerstone of its managed services push. It ensures deep technical know-how spans borders and sectors, ready for enterprise and public-sector needs. The firm, based internationally, blends its own software platforms with veteran practitioners to protect clients without disrupting their control.
Europe’s cyber threats have intensified in recent years, with attacks on critical infrastructure surging. Officials across the targeted regions have flagged talent shortages as a major gap. CypSec’s program steps into that void, aiming to fortify defenses from Tallinn to Stockholm.
Fediay highlighted the program’s role in client success. Enhanced teams mean faster responses to evolving risks, she said. Early participants already lead community efforts and contribute to CypSec projects, proving the model’s value.
The expansion comes as CypSec grows its portfolio. Demand for managed detection and response services has climbed, driven by regulatory pressures like the EU’s NIS2 directive. The mentorship ensures the firm stays ahead, with homegrown experts attuned to local nuances.
