Huawei has expanded its wearable product line to international markets with the global release of the Band 11 series, including a new ‘Pro’ variant that marks a significant evolution in the company’s smart band offerings. The Band 11 series has already been made available for pre-order in several countries, including the Philippines, and now joins the global consumer electronics market for the first time.
Design Changes and Variants
The Band 11 series introduces a redesigned aesthetic with a bolder dial and thick bezels surrounding the curved AMOLED display. The standard Band 11 model comes in six colors—Beige, Green, White, Black, Purple, and Black Polymer—each with distinct materials. The purple and black versions use durable polymer cases, while the others feature aluminum cases. The fluoroelastomer straps are standard except for the purple and beige models, which use different materials.
The Band 11 Pro variant, however, offers a more minimalist approach with three color options: Green, Black, and Blue. The green model uses a nylon strap, while the black and blue versions use fluoroelastomer straps. The dimensions of the Pro model are slightly larger at 43.5 x 28.2 x 8.99mm and weigh 18 grams, compared to the standard Band 11 model, which weighs 16 or 17 grams and has a slightly smaller size.
Display and Performance
Both models feature a 1.62-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 286 x 482 pixels, 347 PPI, and a maximum brightness of 2000 nits. This high brightness ensures visibility even in direct sunlight. Both models use an aluminum alloy case for better grip and comfort, making them suitable for a wide range of wrist sizes, from 130 to 210mm.
One of the standout features of the Band 11 series is the upgraded Emotional WellBeing 2.0 assistant. This feature detects the user’s emotional state across 12 different conditions and responds with interactive, animated pet companions that encourage deep breathing and relaxation. This integration of emotional health into wearable technology reflects a growing trend in consumer electronics to support mental well-being.
Extended Battery Life and Smart Features
Both the Band 11 and Band 11 Pro models offer a battery life of up to 14 days on a single charge. This includes tracking 50 messages, 6 calls, 30 minutes of workout activity, and 3 alarms per week. In Always-On Display (AOD) mode, the battery lasts for three days. The devices support smart magnetic charging, ensuring a quick and efficient charging experience.
Health and fitness features have also been significantly enhanced. The Running Mode tracks indoor, outdoor, and treadmill running, providing accurate data on distance and calories burned. It also predicts performance across different race distances based on training history. The Cycling Mode automatically detects pauses and records only valid cycling data, with the ability to generate a shareable performance poster for social media platforms.
The Enhanced Sleeping Mode includes advanced features such as Heart Rate Variability (HRV), SpO2 monitoring, and early detection of breathing issues. These improvements make the Band 11 series more suitable for users interested in thorough health monitoring.
Other notable features include 100+ customizable watch faces, 2.4GHz WLAN connectivity, Bluetooth 6.0 for faster data transfer, a 9-axis IMU sensor for precise motion tracking, and sensors for optical heart rate and ambient light detection. These features collectively position the Band 11 series as a competitive option in the global smart wearable market.
Market Position and Consumer Impact
The introduction of the Band 11 Pro model represents Huawei’s strategy to differentiate its product line in a crowded market. With the global launch, the company aims to appeal to both casual users and fitness enthusiasts. The Band 11 series is expected to compete with other leading smartwatches, such as the Apple Watch and Fitbit models, by offering a combination of advanced health monitoring, long battery life, and emotional well-being support.
For consumers, the Band 11 series offers a more affordable alternative to high-end smartwatches while still delivering strong health and fitness features. The availability of multiple color options and strap materials also caters to diverse consumer preferences. As the global smart wearable market continues to grow, the Band 11 series could play a significant role in expanding Huawei’s presence in international markets.
The Band 11 series is now available for purchase in multiple regions, with more details on availability and pricing expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
