Apple has quietly introduced the iPhone 17e globally, including in India, where it is priced starting at ₹64,900 for the 256GB variant. The device was revealed during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) and is designed to attract users who are interested in switching to Apple but find the higher-priced iPhone 17 and 17 Pro models financially challenging.
Price and Preorder Details
The iPhone 17e is available in India in three colors—Soft Pink, White, and Black. Preorders for the phone are set to begin at 7:45 PM IST on March 4. Compared to the iPhone 17, which starts at ₹82,900, the iPhone 17e is approximately ₹18,000 cheaper, making it a more accessible option for budget-conscious consumers.
Technical Specifications
The iPhone 17e features an aluminum body with a Ceramic Shield 2 front and glass back. It measures 146.7 mm in height, 71.5 mm in width, and 7.80 mm in depth, weighing 170 grams. The device is rated IP68 for water, dust, and splash resistance, with a maximum depth rating of 6 meters for up to 30 minutes under IEC standard 60529.
Its display is a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR all-screen OLED panel with a resolution of 2532×1170 pixels and a pixel density of 460 ppi. The display supports HDR, True Tone, Wide color (P3), and offers a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio, 800 nits typical brightness, and 1,200 nits peak brightness for HDR content.
