ProEnergy Supply launched its proprietary transactional gateway Tuesday, linking solar system design software with distributor inventory systems. The platform, built with OpenSolar, allows more than 28,000 active solar professionals to view and buy live inventory right as they design systems or check bills of materials.

Brian C. Boguess, chief revenue officer and cofounder of ProEnergy Supply, said the tool creates a digital storefront inside tools customers already use. “We’re not asking distributors to change how they operate,” Boguess said. “Instead, we are giving them a digital storefront inside the tools their customers are already using every day. We did not build PES to add more work to your plate. We built it to reduce your fixed costs tied to the sale and to lower your customer acquisition costs.”

The system targets a key pain point in solar sales. Christian Siebens, CEO and cofounder of ProEnergy Supply, pointed to lost revenue when distributors miss the buying moment. “I helped build some of the largest solar distributors in the industry, and I saw firsthand how much revenue is lost because distributors aren’t present when the solar professional is making a buying decision,” Siebens said. “PES puts you in front of the solar professional during system design, not days after the fact. To me, that is the biggest difference between winning the sale and hoping for a call back.”

ProEnergy Supply is onboarding distributors now in select states, with a national rollout planned. Companies using Epicor P21, Eclipse, SAP, Infor or other ERP systems can apply for territorial priority. Partnered distributors will go live in OpenSolar’s Shop starting March 2026. Interested parties can a demo online.

Andy Rose, global head of commercial for OpenSolar, called the partnership a major win for distributors. “The PES and OpenSolar tech-stack strategic partnership gives distributors a huge boost to their bottom line,” Rose said. “With 28,000 solar professionals designing in our latest release with the PRO Shop functionality, PES delivers credit-guaranteed sales orders directly into a distributor’s ERP sales queue without the associated traditional fixed costs.”

The platform aims to streamline sales in the fast-growing solar sector. Distributors often struggle to sync inventory data with design tools used by installers and engineers. ProEnergy’s AI gateway pulls real-time stock levels and processes orders smoothly. Solar professionals designing on OpenSolar can now skip phone calls or emails, buying gear instantly from verified distributors.

ProEnergy Supply, based in the solar distribution space, focuses on intelligence tools to cut inefficiencies. OpenSolar, a leading design platform, rolled out its Shop feature alongside this integration. Early adopters in key markets will test the system before wider availability.
