Terry Hines & Associates, an entertainment agency network based in Los Angeles, announced the acquisition of MDRN Logic on Wednesday. Financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed.
The move integrates MDRN Logic into Terry Hines’ portfolio alongside agencies like digital and social specialist Homebrew, out-of-home firm THACreate, and experiential event shop The MRKT. Executives at MDRN Logic will stay in place, with Erica Coates serving as CEO, Michael Bennett as chief growth officer, and Allan Gungormez as chief strategy officer.
Grant Nemirow, chairman of Terry Hines, praised the addition. “Modern Logic represents the kind of creative excellence and cultural relevance we always strive to deliver,” he said. The agency serves clients across film, television, streaming, gaming, and sports sectors.
MDRN Logic brings recent accolades to the fold. The studio earned the Grand Prix Titanium at the Cannes Lions festival for its DoorDash campaign, developed in partnership with Wieden+Kennedy. Current projects include work for Sony. Past clients feature Epic Games, where MDRN Logic supported the launch of the latest Fortnite game, and branded content for Gushers’ “Fruithead” campaign.
Erica Coates, MDRN Logic’s CEO, pointed to shifts in the advertising landscape. “It’s clear we are at an inflection moment, where the traditional big agency is not as attractive to brands anymore,” she said. The acquisition positions Terry Hines to offer clients a broader suite of services, from strategy to execution.
Terry Hines & Associates has built a reputation for tailored marketing solutions in entertainment. Adding MDRN Logic’s expertise in content creation strengthens its pitch to brands seeking agile, culturally attuned campaigns. Industry observers see the deal as a response to brands’ demand for specialized shops over sprawling holding companies.
The combined entity now spans multiple disciplines. Homebrew handles digital and social media strategies. THACreate focuses on out-of-home advertising. The MRKT specializes in events and immersive experiences. MDRN Logic fills a gap in high-end content production and design.
Los Angeles serves as the hub for these operations. Terry Hines’ client roster includes major players in Hollywood and beyond, from studios to gaming giants. The acquisition arrives amid a crowded field of mergers in the marketing space, as agencies adapt to fragmented media consumption and platform changes.
