Hayden Panettiere remained warm and professional despite concerns about her wellbeing during the filming of her 2025 movie ‘A Breed Apart,’ according to director Griff Furst. The film was the last project she worked on before her death on August 16, 2026.

Concerns on Set

Furst, who directed the film alongside his brother Nathan Furst, said he sensed something was wrong when Panettiere arrived for production; According to his account, members of the film’s security team had already raised concerns after collecting Panettiere from the airport.

The filmmaker later went to greet Panettiere and her then on and off boyfriend, Brian Hickerson.
