Jennifer Lopez says her priorities shifted after headlining WorldPride in Washington, D.C., and she now considers the LGBTQ+ community a key focus in her career. According to Out, Lopez told the publication that playing at Pride last year marked the beginning of a new chapter in her life. She emphasized that everything she does is done with the queer community in mind.
Lopez’s New Rom-Com
Lopez stars in Office Romance, a new Netflix romantic comedy set to debut during Pride Month. In the film, she plays Jackie Cruz, a powerful and perfectionist CEO who falls in love with the company’s lawyer, played by Brett Goldstein. According to Filmstarts, the movie is described as a typical JLo rom-com and marks a return to a genre that has brought her past success. According to digital fernsehen, however, the film did not live up to its NSFW marketing, with one reviewer calling it prudish and lacking in actual romance or chemistry.
Brett Goldstein praised the film and his co-star, saying, “I couldn’t believe how fun it was. She’s a phenomenal actress. She’s really underrated as an actor. I loved working with her.” Goldstein also stated that the movie was “so funny and so romantic,” according to Lopez.
Marketing Misfire?
Netflix’s marketing for Office Romance included a provocative image of Lopez and Goldstein on a desk and a tagline reading “It’s going down.” According to digital fernsehen, the film failed to deliver the sex appeal promised in the campaign. One reviewer noted, “The few moments of bareness were more awkward than erotic. If you don’t like English football, you’ll find it strange.”
Meanwhile, Filmstarts pointed out that Lopez has a history of success with Netflix, including hits like The Mother and Atlas. Whether Office Romance will join that list remains to be seen.
Dating Rumors and Public Appearances
On June 2, Lopez and Goldstein attended a premiere in New York, where they were seen holding hands and sharing affectionate glances. According to Vietnam.vn, this came just hours after Lopez denied dating rumors involving Goldstein and a 46-year-old actor. Despite their denials, the two were often seen laughing and joking during promotions, fueling speculation.
In an appearance on Today, Lopez joked about the constant speculation, saying, “There is never a moment I am seen with someone or working with someone without people trying to set me up.” Goldstein added with a laugh, “I think if you just stand near her, this happens. That’s why I’ve stayed so close to her.”
Lopez clarified that she is not currently dating anyone, and Goldstein confirmed this. She recently finalized her divorce from Ben Affleck in January 2025 and has not announced any new relationships since.
